Our Process

Step 1

Consultation

The first step in our process is to meet with you in-person to discuss your ideas and understand your needs. This is the time to bring your photos, floorplans, Pinterest boards and any other wish list ideas you want to incorporate into your dream home. We’ll be offering our own ideas as well as addressing any questions or concerns you may have. Together we will determine what changes need to be made to an existing plan, or if you require a custom plan.

Step 2

Luxury Options & Contract

Once your plans have been selected, our Luxury Option list of commonly chosen upgrades and amenities will be provided for your review. We can also price any special requests at this time. After plans and lot are finalized, all Luxury Options have been chosen, and once you have secured financing, it is time to put it all on paper.

Step 3

Meet with Designer & Break Ground

Within 30 days of contract signing you will be contacted by our designer to arrange a selection meeting. At this meeting you will discuss options for masonry, flooring, countertops, paint, guttering, lighting & appliances, etc.
Also during this time the dirt work will start and the stemwall will be poured, in-ground utilities are installed, and the slab will complete the foundation.

Step 4

Framing, Roofing & Masonry

You begin to see your home taking shape as the walls and the roof are built by our skilled frame crews. Once the roof is complete, exterior doors and windows will be installed, and shingles and masonry contractors move in to install the shingles and brick.

Step 5

Plumbing, HVAC, Electric, Insulation & Sheetrock

One of the busiest phases of construction, multiple contractors will be working diligently inside the home during this stage to install all of the Electrical, HVAC and Plumbing systems in your home. The garage doors are also installed at this time. Once all the city inspections have passed, it's time to cover it all up with insulation and sheetrock. All color and design selections should be finalized at this point.

Step 6

Tile & Trim

Your selected tile flooring is installed, followed by all cabinetry and trim.

Step 7

Exterior Concrete

The sidewalks and driveway are poured at this stage. Your lot will be graded to the proper elevation. Your sprinkler system, landscaping and sod will also be installed at this time.

Step 8

Painting

Painters take over the house for 2-3 weeks as they mask and paint the interior and exterior. Once the paint is complete all the finals will start.

Step 9

Finals & Home Orientation

Lights, plumbing, carpet, mirrors and shower glass will be installed. The tiled backsplash areas will all be completed. After finals are complete everything is inspected and your house is deep cleaned. Approximately 30 days before your home is complete, dates will be set for your Home Orientation Meeting and Closing.

Step 10

Closing

You and the builder will meet at the title company to finalize the sale of your new home. You will receive all your keys and openers at this time to your brand new Aaron Tatum Custom Home! We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to build your dream home!
